Great Ways to Say "Happy Birthday"

The old-fashioned birthday card is losing steam, and newer ways to wish your friend a Happy birthday are replacing them. Sometimes, simple well-wishes on Facebook or a birthday email are enough but oftentimes we want a more creative way to wish our friends a New York Happy Birthday. There are lots of options for simple but interesting ways to recognize a friend's birthday.
You can quickly and easily send an online greeting card with funny animations, music, and a cute message. Online greeting cards are available at a variety of websites, including evite.com, 123greetings.com, bluemountain.com, and egreetings.com. If your sense of humor is more snarky you should check out someecards.com for more tongue in cheek humor. On all of the e-cards websites you can sort through greeting cards based on the recipient or the type of card (for example, funny cards or top picks) and the site will allow you to customize the card with a personal message and then email the card to your friend.
Another more creative way to deliver a message is through writing on baked goods. In New York, Mrs. Fields offers delicious cookies of various sizes with custom messages written in icing. Who wouldn't want a giant chocolate chip cookie topped with icing? Or, NYC Cookies by Design will deliver a custom bouquet of cookies with a message to your friend. Their cookies come in a variety of sizes and styles, so you can get flip flop cookies for your friend who loves the beach, guitar cookies for someone more musical, or car cookies someone who likes the racetrack. And if cookies aren't your first choice baked good, you could always opt for buying a cake with a happy Birthday message written on top. Another option is to order a champagne bottle online with a custom-printed message on the label. This way, your friend gets both a nice bottle of champagne, and your personal message! For the artistically gifted, you could print out your own label to stick on the champagne bottle. This idea could also work with a great bottle of wine instead of champagne.
If you only have time to quickly stop by a store, you could send your friend a "Happy Birthday" balloon either by itself, with a card, or with a gift. It's also a popular NYC tradition to embarrass a friend at work with a big helium balloon waiting at their desk the morning of their birthday.

Beginner Piano Lessons - How to Play "Happy Birthday" on the Piano

Did you know that Happy Birthday is the song that is sung most often, world wide! It covers a range of 8 notes or an octave. To play it on the piano place 2 markers (like coins) either side of your end notes. This will make it easier to find your position.
The white keys on the piano are named after the first 7 letters of the alphabet - A B C D E F G.
Our song starts on G. To find G, find a group of 3 black keys in the middle of the piano. G is the white key between the 1st and 2nd black key. Place a marker on the note to the left of G. This is F. Now find the G, 8 notes higher. Place a marker on the note to the right of G. This is A.
Because you will be playing both the high and low G, the low G will be written as a capital - G; the high G will be written in lower case - g.
Here are the notes for Happy Birthday, played on the white keys, between G and g.

You could play the song with just one finger, but it is better to use one finger per note. Piano fingering is the way the fingers are numbered. The thumb is 1, the index finger is 2 and so on. Place both thumbs on Middle C. The song starts with the 4th finger of your left hand on G. Enjoy playing the world's most popular song.
